Looks similar to silk shantung but with more slubs in the fiber. It has a crisp, firm hand with lots of linear texture and subtle luster but little drape. It dyes and paints brilliant colors but does not lend itself well to the use of gutta owing to the heavy, random slubs. Silk Shantung is a kind Dupionni of silk that is woven in the Shantung Provence of China.

Fabric Details

• 100% Dupion Silk

• 19mm, 45" wide

• You can dye this with Acid Dyes

• We found that this shrinks 11% in Length and 2% in Width disclaimer

• Available in cut yardage and in 11 & 50 yard bolts

• Machine wash in any temperature water

Remember, bolts vary! They can be over or under - we charge you for the actual yardage. If you need very specific yardage, order cut yardage.
