Our heaviest Crepe de Chine in 30mm weight. Also know as "4 ply Crepe" or "Silk Faille". Excellent draping fabric with a soft matte sheen. Takes dye with great depth and intensity. A favorite fabrication used often by top world designers. Suitable for many types of garments: Bridal wear, evening gowns, dresses, pants, jackets, blouses, men's shirts. A very versatile fabric. The heavier weight makes this fabric wear well (more durable), but the super soft drape makes it universally appealing for almost every type of garment.
Fabric Details
• 100% Heavy Crepe de Chine Silk
• 30mm, 45" wide
• You can dye this with Acid Dyes
• We found that this shrinks 13% in Length and 9% in Width disclaimer
• Available in cut yardage and in 11 & 50 yard bolts
• Machine wash in any temperature water

Remember, bolts vary! They can be over or under - we charge you for the actual yardage. If you need very specific yardage, order cut yardage.

It depends what you want this fabric for. It is beautiful and heavy weight. But I bought it as "canvas" for my framed silk paintings, and it paints differently than the lighter weights of CDC. Colors flow oh-so-slowly, and you have to work at saturating it with color. It also dries very slowly. I was thinking that, perhaps, the greater heft might translate to greater richness in the finished product, but that didn't seem to be true in my case. Very nice silk, but know why you're buying it.

This is a lovely fabric and it takes dye just beautifully. It did shrink perceptibly in the washing, dyeing, and drying process. I'm not sure how much the length shrunk, but the width shrunk to about 40-41". It's a little tricky to work with
