Wax & Waxing Tools
Using wax as a resist is usually called Batik. Waxes have different characteristics to choose from for Batik. Paraffin wax cracks a lot and when used by itself can flake right off the fabric. Beeswax and Sticky wax crack very little. Batik wax is a premade 85/15 mixture of Paraffin and Sticky wax that crackles just right. By mixing waxes you can control the amount of cracking. Soy wax is our latest addition, water soluble, fume free and a renewable resource, but read about it before you choose, as it has it's limitations in traditional Batik.    continued...
