Product Description
This silk fabric has a soft, lustrous and supple hand. Perfect for beginners as it is economical, has a smooth surface and lends itself to most painting techniques. Good for fairly sheer scarves, pillows, linings, very light weight flags etc.
Fabric Details
SILKS
• 100% Habotai Silk
• 5mm, 36", 45", or 55" wide
• You can dye this with Acid Dyes
• We found that this shrinks 8% in Length and 1% in Width disclaimer
• Available in cut yardage and 50 yard bolts
• Machine wash in any temperature water

Remember, bolts vary! They can be over or under - we charge you for the actual yardage. If you need very specific yardage, order cut yardage.

The product is a "5", but because the fabric is too thin and transparent for painting pillow covers, there it's a "1". You should recommend which silk is good for painting and opaque. Maybe it was my fault for not reading the information correctly on the website. This is my reason for giving the fabric a "3".

I bought this to use for nuno felted scarves. It has more luster than the 8mm chiffon I had been using, shrinks less in my dye bath and during felting and is less expensive. I am a convert!
