4/5/2010Good range of colors, I think this line could be a great staple with some tweaking. I have noticed that some colors don't dissolve as well as others - 403 Flamingo Pink and 420 Golden Straw in particular left little flecks of dye particles floating in the dye solution and on the dyed yarn no matter how much I mixed them.

5/24/2010The value on these is great! I figured I'd give the "off" brand a shot, and was pleased with both the volume of dye in the container and the luscious colors that resulted.

5/21/2010The colors that I have used are consistent, no problems with dissolving or color shifting. The black is black.

5/20/2013So far they have all been great with the exception of the moss green. It had more blue like the forest green. I am so glad I figured these out - I was so tired of the ripstop nylon colors that were commonly available. My suggestion - cut a piece of the fabric off and attach it to the container so you can remember how it worked on that certain fabric.

2/7/2013Love your acid dyes on silk and wool rovings! The colors are so much richer and vivid on silk than procion dyes. Also only need water and vinegar to mix with which makes it simple. Works great in a vat with heat but I was especially happy to discover that I was able to use it cold to paint on silk with a brush even though instructions say to heat before use. (peacock blue likes to be heated though and tends to stay separated) I used the primary colors only to mix many shades and thinned down with water and a little more vinegar to get many lighter tones of each color. (I do initially mix with hot tap water but after mixing it appears unnecessary to heat the colors up again. After steaming, the colors stayed vibrant with very little wash out. Also the colors didn't run or bleed or at least very little when you painted wet on wet which is great when you want to tone down a painting with an all over layer of a thin wash!! This is impossible to do with procion dyes as they bleed and mush up..Acid dyes are the way to go for silk painting nd dyeing!!! I now will only use procion on cottons, linen, rayon and hemp. One thing though about acid dyes which I can't speak however on are the other colors and understand that some of the other colors can be problematic and more difficult to use, but not the primaries I have found.

10/3/2012I've been using much more expensive dyes and decided to give Dharma a try. WOW! These dyes are just as good as the "fancy brand"! The colors are very vibrant.

3/21/2012Dharma's new Saffron Spice is the same as Jacquard's Aztec Gold.
More orange than than anything. I guess its meant to be named after the saffron crocus stigma and not the rich Yellow colour obtained from them. Was this review helpful?

8/12/2011All of your dyes are so wonderful. The colors are great and the results fabulous while economically priced. The information about dyeing on your website is wonderful as well. I recently directed a relative there because she was trying to dye with cheap dyes and not getting the results. Your site was wonderful when explaining why you use good quality products that may cost a little more than what you would buy at Wal-Mart but you will get the results you want which in turn means a more economical product. Keep up the good work! I love your products and help.
