Sometimes called Silk Noil. It's a black, nubby textured silk fabric. It is thicker than the other silks, feels great, and has a good drape to it.

I am a huge fan of raw silk so was interested in trying out this black. It does not disappoint. It is every bit as nice as the natural raw silk but pitch black.

Amazing fabric! Beautiful color weight drape texture very soft great price. Sews beautifully. I just used it as a lining for handpainted silk jackets making them reversible. Will definitely buy this again.

I was delighted to find this product. I had used Logantex SoftSilk for several years and it has been discontinued. I just ran out of my stash of black and ordered a small amount of this fabric to see if it would be a good replacement. It is slightly lighter weight but that is perfect for my designs. It also doesn't seem to have the strong "grassy" odor that raw silks usually have. I read the review where one buyer did not like the product as it faded and looked bad after washing. I have found that it works best to wash in cold water and line dry this fabric. If you take reasonable care you will love this textured silk.

it has a lovely feel and adds nice contrast in texture when mixing with other silks. but beware of the washing machine! it will discolor certain other fabrics. it also gets a stone washed look if you wash after quilting.
